How We're Making a Difference
World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by offering a full solution to poverty and injustice issues—and making it sustainable so it lasts.
World Vision works in nearly 100 countries around the world and serves all people, regardless of religion, race, ethnicity or gender.
The organization’s community development approach empowers children and families to break the cycle of poverty and reach their potential.
Giving In Motion
Giving In Motion was started by a group of people who traveled with World Vision to Ghana. The organization works with World Vision in Ghana to provide clean water to people.
Giving In Motion hosts three main events to raise money to build wells: Walnut Creek Half Marathon, Danville 6K for Water and an annual golf tournament. In three years, Giving In Motion has given 4,000 people clean water for life. For more on Giving In Motion, visit givinginmotion.org.
Over the years, Giving In Motion has noticed the children in Ghana absolutely love soccer. However, these children have limited access to standard soccer balls. They often use plastic bottles or make their own balls with trash or plastic bags and twine.
The ultra-durable One World Futbol, a soccer ball that never needs a pump and never goes flat, can change the game for these children. It is ideal for the harsh terrains on which they play and does not require a needle or a pump. The One World Futbol will last for years where standard soccer balls sometimes do not last hours.
Through this campaign, Giving In Motion & World Vision raised 20 One World Futbols.
