How We’re Making a Difference
San Dieguito Academy Interact and San Marcos Youth Initiative — in collaboration with the San Diego Sockers — are teaming up to raise ultra-durable One World Futbols, soccer balls that never need a pump and never go flat, for Los Angelitos de Encinitas and the Boys & Girls Club of San Marcos.
Los Angelitos de Encinitas (The Little Angels) is a nonprofit public charity that benefits the economically disadvantaged youth in the Encinitas community. Many children in Encinitas are unable to participate in youth sports programs due to the costs. Additionally, their families cannot afford after-school care and the children are struggling academically. Los Angelitos is working in partnership with the Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA, Encinitas Soccer League and local public schools to provide basic needs and opportunities to children and families in Encinitas.
The Boys & Girls Club of San Marcos is part of a nationwide movement of community-based, autonomous organizations and Boys & Girls Clubs of America working to help youth of all backgrounds develop the qualities needed to become responsible citizens and leaders.
The Boys & Girls Club is committed to serving the needs of boys and girls 6 to 18 years of age during the critical hours when they are out of school and away from parental supervision. The Boys & Girls Club gives children what they need most: a safe environment where they can have fun and be themselves; adult role models who respect and listen to them; and interesting and constructive educational and recreational activities that channel youthful energy into challenging and productive pursuits.
One World Futbols are needed by both groups because the surfaces that children play in most of the world are very rough and harsh. Standard soccer balls deflate and become unusable very quickly, which prevents children from playing. One World Futbols will last much longer and will allow children to play as long as they want.

Through this campaign, we raised 1 One World Futbol.
