Nearly Indestructible Soccer Balls to Burundi

Bujumbura, Burundi–May 25, 2013–The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture and Sport Sans Frontières NGO officially announce the distribution of more than 27,600 nearly indestructible One World Futbols in Burundi on the occasion of the International Day of African Unity on 25 May 2013.

The objective of this initiative is to generate a significant impact on the lives of children in Burundi through both the distribution of these nearly indestructible soccer balls and the sharing the joy of play.

The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture of Burundi and the NGO Sport Sans Frontières have partnered with One World Futbol Project to distribute the Chevrolet-sponsored One World Futbols through a network of partners working with youth of Burundi.

Attending the events at the Stade Prince Louis Rwagasore: The First Vice President of the Republic, the Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, Sport Sans Frontières, Minister of Education, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Provincial Governors, Directors provincial education, municipal administrators, ambassadors in Burundi; representatives from One World Futbol Project; representatives of partner organizations, including Right to Play Burundi, Association of sports administrators and physical education teachers and sports (ACASPE), Terre des hommes, Giriyuja, Cooperation Pays de la Loire, UNHCR, International Rescue Committee, Refugee Education Trust, school children of Bujumbura beneficiaries children programs of partner organizations; children tournament “Football for Peace” as well as children from Handicap International and students from the ACCESS programme.
